Yabut River Resort: Digital Detox Vacation.

"An eco-friendly river resort where leisure, tranquility, and fun co-exist."

"Nature is the best therapist" -unknown

Offline is peace of mind, they say. While it's easy to switch to airplane mode so you take a break from social media, wouldn't it be nicer to go someplace which does it all for you? To disconnect and reconnect with nature and people - that was the plan.

Located in Calaca, Batangas is the Yabut River Resort, an eco-friendly river resort where leisure, tranquility, and fun co-exist.

I visited this place mainly for 4 reasons - to unwind from the stress and anxieties brought about by the pandemic, digital detox, post-valentines, and monthsary date with my SO. My boyfriend and I initially planned to go to the beach that weekend, however, we decided to go and explore someplace new (which is not necessarily a beach 😂) - which won't hurt our pockets.

ACCOMMODATION

Antique Rooms

Yabut River Resort has facility rentals for daytour and rooms for those staying overnight. They have four types of rooms depending on pax and can accommodate up to 10 people.

We availed the antique room - which is a Kubo-type accommodation good for 2 pax. Inclusions of the room we stayed in are:

  1. 1 queen-sized bed; 4 pillows; 1 blanket

  2. Toilet and bathroom (they have bidet!!)

  3. Air-condition

  4. 1 veranda w/ table and chairs

Note: Bring your own toiletries.

AMENITIES

Yabut River Resort
River area

Yes you can swim in the river!!! The water is super cold though (which I didn't really mind).

Pool Area 1

Guests are limited, so the place is definitely not crowded. [ I just love the feeling of peace [swimming alone in the poollllll]

Pool Area 2

Proper swimming attire is observed when swimming in the pool and river.

Did I mention that this place is also a go-to place for prenuptial shoots?

Mandatory bridge photos!!!!

Fancy taking pictures for your feed? The nature is your bff!! Explore the resort and go around; there are lots of spots wherein you can take your photos. As for me, I don't have many bridge photos, hence the pictures above. 😂

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

The resort is located near the bayan, so you don't have to worry about not bringing any food. They still offer [limited] food inside the resort, however, you are only allowed to eat in designated areas. For our lunch and dinner, we opted for outside food.

During lunch, we went to Lomihan sa Madalunot, which is one tricycle away from Yabut. The restaurant offers a wide range of choices - Lomi, Rice Meals. Burgers and Sandwiches, Pancit, etc. Heard this resto was featured many times on television.

For our #DinnerbytheRiver, my bf went to take out food from Tea Co Locco - Calaca (which was also one tric away) as I was craving milk tea at that time. Their food and drinks range from P40 to P140.

Eating by the river accompanied by the sound of birds, river water, trees and the sight of the river and nature altogether was just very delightful.

Take note that breakfast is not included in the overnight rate. I wasn't able to take a picture, but the next day, we availed our breakfast meal from inside the resort. As far as I can recall - our meal which consisted of rice, egg, tapa, and coffee cost around a total of P140 each.

ACTIVITY

They only have one activity in the resort - kayaking.

This was my first time kayaking and just by how peaceful it was, I felt like I was kayaking in Venice to the sound of La Vie En Rose. [Kidding, I haven't been to Venice lol :<)

Rates:

• 1 seater - P150/hr

• 2 seater - P250/hr

If you're concerned about falling off the kayak boat, you'll be fine as the water level is only around 4.5 ft.
